"Hello,

I just wanted to thank you for such a wonderful course. I put my shiny new NRA Instructor's Certificate on my desk at work and I am so proud to have completed my certification.

My Husband and I had fun spending the weekend together and working on going over lesson plans and practicing our teach backs.  We don't get the chance to sit down and work on things together often. Before taking the course, we also spent a few hours on the range practicing to be sure I would be able to hit the instructor's qualification at 15 yards and that worked out well.

I am not sure how many husband & wife teams are getting certified together, but I would highly recommend it for couples who are interested in teaching the course together.  It will help reach more people by being able to have more students enrolled in each class, and it gave us the chance to find strengths and opportunities in ourselves to be able to help prepare and plan to co-instruct NRA: Basics of Pistol Shooting as a team successfully.

As far as feedback for the course, I believe you did an excellent job instructing and using theTeaching Methods and How to Teach a Skill information to teach the class.  Your leadership was awesome because you actually used every one of the teaching methods that you are asking us to use with our students.  That not only is a great demonstration, but it shows you actually believe in what you are teaching us to do.

In other "training" courses I have attended, the instructor will give a lot of examples of teaching methods like demonstrations, buzz groups, and role playing - but never actually use any of them while teaching.  Research has shown these are the best methods to increase student learning.  The "trainer" in these other courses will instruct us to do these things, but from a lecture with no interaction or engagement, using absolutely none of the teaching methods they are asking us to do.

You also did a great job of making everyone feel comfortable and welcome. The studio set up worked well for class and the range was close by and very easy to find. Thank you for all you do.  You are a great instructor.  We plan on taking additional courses in the future.

"I did not know what to fully expect stepping into your class, nor know what type of teacher/coach you would be. Therefore, I was a bit nervous showing up on Saturday.  However, after just a few minutes of being in your class, I knew that not only were you passionate about the content that you were teaching us, but you truly wanted all of us to succeed. Your positive attitude and encouragement made me feel comfortable and relaxed; I was able to do my best.

You class was well organized, timed just right, and covered all the pertinent information.  The hands on teaching demos were a great way to show us how well we knew the content and how well we could present the information.
